…but with little opportunity. And while I didn’t know what the dream was, now it has become the dream of my life.” –Ester Echaverria, 2012 (VIDEO)

When Ester Echaverria was growing up in a small fishing village on the Costa de los Pajaros in Costa Rica, money was tight and her family couldn’t afford to send her to school. But three decades later, Ester has found a way to satisfy her love for learning and support her family.
Ester tells her story in this short film with the help of Janet Fash and Janelle Wilkins, participants in our Monteverde New Media Expedition workshop. (watch video below)

During our six-day filmmaking workshop, our talented expedition members produced several short films to help promote community conservation efforts. Check them out!
